Infertility is the biological incompetence of a person to successfully reinforce the conception. If after having unprotected sex for up to one year without conceiving then it indicates infertility. There are two types of infertility: primary and secondary. In primary fertility, a couple is not able to conceive at all whereas in secondary infertility, a couple is not able to conceive for the second child or after a miscarriage. Secondary infertility can also be called by the name sub-fertility wherein the couple is less fertile than an average fertility in couples. The adequate production of progesterone by the female ovaries thickness the uterus lining for the development of the fetus. But when the quantity of production of these hormones reduces then it becomes difficult for the implantation to occur and even after conceiving, miscarriage occurs.
Endometriosis means the tissues of the uterus lining cultivates outside the uterus in the abdominal pelvic cavity. Some of the main symptoms of this development are pain in the menstrual cycle, pain while doing intercourse and discomfort in the pelvic area. But in a few women, this problem of endometriosis prevails even in the absence of these symptoms.
Problems in Ovulation:
Ovulation takes place when hypothalamus secretes a hormone and ovulation will not take place in the absence of this hormone. This is because of the reason that ovaries will not be able to release mature eggs. This can be the reason for infertility when there is no or irregular menstrual periods with heavy or mild bleeding.
Pelvic Inflammatory Diseases:
When a female suffers from the problem of pelvic inflammatory disease then due to the presence of bacteria it causes infection in different reproductive organs like the appendix, intestinal parts which falls in the pelvic area. One of the main area of this infection is fallopian tubes. Some of the main causes of PID are sexually inherited diseases, pelvic tuberculosis, use of no sterile abortions, presence of virus herpes and ruptured appendix.
Impoverished Egg Quality:
When a woman enters the age of 30s then the egg quality decreases which increases the risk of developing some specific chromosomal abnormalities. Due to these problems, a woman is not able to conceive .So it is only the age which is affecting the pregnancy and not the presence of any symptoms.
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome :
In PCOS syndrome, a woman suffers from an excessive increase in body weight, excessive hair growth, infrequent menstrual cycle and acne breakout. A woman produces high amount of male hormones by the ovaries particularly testosterone which leads to the development of small cysts in the ovaries and such type of hormonal imbalance and presence of cysts obstruct fertility.
Injured or blocked Fallopian tubes:
In some cases, when the Fallopian tubes in the female uterus are injured or are blocked due to any reason then it affects the eggs movement and hold back the sperm to enter the uterus. Some of the reasons behind blocked or injured Fallopian tubes are pelvic inflammatory disease, sterilization surgery or any sexually transmitted disease.
So there are various types of reason for infertility and one need do for an obstetrician and gynecologist to know the exact cause of infertility in some women. The certain type of tests will give the definite reason.
