Food is not the only means for the production of energy in the body but it also responsible for the provision of essential nutrients in the body which helps to keep a check on the body temperature and maintenance of the bones. The key factor is the nutrition that is present in the body.A nutrient is a chemical substance that is present in food and provides energy in the body. So while choosing the food choices for a healthy diet, you should always consider the nutrients that are present in the body and the functions they play.

Minerals

MineralsAll types of minerals fall in the category of micronutrients. There are 16 essential minerals.These are sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium, phosphorous, sulfer and magnesium and the trace minerals are iron, selenium, molybdenum, iodine, copper, zinc, magnesium, flourise and chromium. These minerals help in the regulation of muscle functions and in the transmission of the nervous system. They also help in blood clotting process and helps to maintain a normal heartbeat.

Carbohydrates

CarbohydratesThe main micronutrient that provides fuel is carbohydrates. It contains around 4 calories per gram and it provides the brain and body with necessary sugar. To give the best support to the brain functioning one should eat 130 grams of cabs in a day. Carbs are of two types: simple and complex. Simple carbohydrates need less energy to break down and is available in fruits. Complex carbohydrates need more energy in the breaking process and can be acquired thorough grains, vegetables and starch food

lipidsAnother source of energy is macronutrient known as lipids of fats.Among all the funtions of the body,fats helps to transport and in the absorption of the fat-soluble vitamins like A,D,E and K.The presence of fat in the body protect us from any type of injury and regulates the temperature of our body.This is because of the reason that the fat cells stores excess energy in the body and when all energy is used then it comes from this stored fact on the body.The lipids can be simple,compound or derived form of energy and each form represents a different structure of chemical.Fat comprises of around 20% to 30 % of the daily intake of calories with 9 calories per gram.

Proteins

Water

waterOne of the essential nutrient is water.It is a macronutrient that focus on al types of functions of the ody.Water helps to regulate the temperature of the body and helps to maintain the volume of the blood.It also helps in the movement if all the essential nutrients in the body and eliminates waste products out from the body.Every human beings should drink atleast eight glasses or 64 oz water everyday.

Vitamins

vitaminsVitamins are a micronutrient that help to use other nutrients of the body.The main functions of vitamin is to monitor and maintain the growth of tissues and releases energy that is present in food.Some of the vitamins also help in the production of RBC and WBC and other hormones.But another important thing is that a person should take water soluble vitamins like B complex and C as it dissolves in water and expelled out from the body while Fat soluble vitamins like A,K ,E and D accumulates in the stores of body fat and may prove harmful.
