Autoimmune diseasesHuman bodies have an immune system in which special cells have a network that helps to fight against germs and other foreign invaders.Any flaw in the body maesk it unable to differentiate between self and non slef and when this happens,the body start making anti-bodies that attacks the normal cells.The same moment some special cells that are known as regulatory cells fail to perform the job of keeping in line the immune system.This leads to misguided attack on the body and damage that is known as autoimmune diseases.It depends on the type of autoimmune disease that which part will be affected by it.

Autoimmune diseases are very common as it affects around 23.5 million Americans.It is one of the major cause of death and disability in human beings of America.Some types of autoimmune diseases are rare while some affects many persons simultaneously.

Some of the people who are more prone to autoimmune diseases are discussed here:

  • Women of childbearing age – The chances of autoimmune diseases are more women than men and it starts when a female enters in childbearing years.
  • Heredity-  Some autoimmune diseases run in families, such as lupus and multiple sclerosis. It is inherited by members of a single family and because of heredity as certain genes are more likely to get an autoimmune disorder.
  • People who are around certain trigger in the environment – There are  certain environmental  triggers that leads to autoimmune diseases,.These triggers are sunlight, chemicals called solvents,  bacteria and viruses that leads to autoimmune disorders.
  • People with certain  backgrounds – Autoimmune diseases are more common among people of certain backgrounds .For e.g. can say that type 1 diabetes is more common in white people whereas lupus is mostly found in African-American and Hispanic people.
